Martha Covington King Scholarship

The Martha Covington King Scholarships provide four years of financial assistance to entering freshmen majoring in Environmental Science at Lander University. The King Scholarships were established in 1998 in memory of Martha Covington King, a Lander alumna who graduated in 1936. Awards are made on the basis of merit. For consideration applicants should be rising high school seniors with a minimum SAT score of 1000 (21 on the ACT). Preference will be given to students in the college preparatory or advanced placement programs. Applications are reviewed by the Environmental Science Steering Committee and the trustees of the King estate. The award is renewable for up to three years provided the recipient maintains a GPA of at least 3.0 and is an Environmental Science major making satisfactory progress toward the degree.
