Katherine O. McCoy Scholarship

Katherine O. McCoy, alumna of Lander class of 1963, was a recipient of the James F. Byrnes scholarship which enabled her to attend Lander after the death of her father. Katherine passed away from cancer in 2013 and to honor her memory, her close Lander friends from the class of 1963 established this scholarship fund in the tradition of the criteria set forth in the James F. Byrnes Scholarship. Recipient must have lost one or both parents by death or is from a single parent household. Be a South Carolina resident and a U. S. Citizen. Have Financial Need based. Be a Current Senior in High School at time of award. Plan to obtain a 4 year degree at Lander. Have a least a 2.5 GPA. Exhibit excellence in character, ability and enterprise must be shown to indicate that the individual will make a worthwhile contribution to society. Scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains a 2.5 GPA.
