George R. Starnes Family Scholarship

The George R. Starnes Family Scholarship was established in September 2007 by George R. Starnes, 1981 graduate of Lander University, to honor his family members. An award of $1000 per year will be given to two incoming freshmen in the honors program. Recipient must have a 3.0 high school GPA and 1100 on the SAT. If similar candidates apply, scholarship will be awarded based on grades and school activities. Scholarship is renewable provided recipient remains full-time and maintains a 2.75 GPR. Student can keep scholarship for four consecutive academic years if academic requirements are met. The maximum scholarship pool at any time is eight students.
