Ruth Harrison Finch Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students majoring or intended to be majors in teacher education from Spartanburg County.

Established by William D. Finch, Jr. in honor of his wife, Ruth Harrison Finch, class of 1934. Scholarship will be awarded from fund income to an entering freshman interested in the educational field. The budget is to be divided evenly between Fall and Spring semester. Recipient must have a cumulative high school GPR of 3.3, demonstrate involvement in community and/or school related activities, possess leadership skills, and show financial need. Scholarship should go to a qualified student from Spartanburg County. Letters of recommendation from a high school English teacher and a guidance counselor will be required. Scholarship can be renewed provided student maintains an overall 3.0 GPR and continues an interest in the educational field.
