Sarah D. Waller Scholarship
Waller’s history has stressed education. Mrs. Sarah Dorothy Waller became a single parent of five children at the sudden and untimely death of her husband James Waller. She and the family ran the farm and provided educational opportunities for all her children. With the help of the Waller family, her children would complete educational requirements during the day and on off hours return to farm to complete farming tasks. “Because of the joys and struggles of farm life, we were better students/professionals in the end. Sarah Dorothy Waller’s strength and love shaped us to continue to farm. Again we were blessed. We want to assist other farmer families in educational pursuits of their family members.” • Recipient will be a full time student in their freshman or upperclassman years in any major.
