Sarah I. Stone Scholarship

Established in 1996 in memory of Sarah Isabell Stone, a member of the class of 1943, by her family and friends: These scholarships will be initially awarded from fund income to incoming freshman students who demonstrate outstanding abilities and a strong commitment to the practice and/or teaching of art or design. Each awardee must be a full-time residential or commuting student. They must major in art, art education, or design and must exhibit an engaged studio practice. Each student’s scholarship may be renewed each year upon satisfactory academic performance. The selection and continuation of scholarship recipients and the determination of scholarship amounts shall be the responsibility of the faculty of the Department of Art.

If Lander University should cease to offer all majors in art, art education, and design these scholarships must be awarded to full-time residential or commuting students majoring or minoring in English, History, or Music.
