Young/Beaudrot Music Scholarship

This scholarship was established to aid scholarships in their musical education and encourage them to use their talents to enhance church worship to the glory of God. This scholarship is in memory of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Pope Young and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Louis Beadrot who became a part of First Baptist Church in the late 1800s.

The University or college will select the scholarship recipient. The scholarship is awarded per term (not year). The scholarship recipient will be a music intern at The First Baptist Church while receiving the scholarship. The scholarship recipient will maintain at least a B grade average and exhibit good moral standards. The recipient must have had a COVID-19 vaccination. Local residents who are well involved with their church music program are excluded from this scholarship. Selection is based on an audition to be conducted by the Lander University Music department.
