Self Regional Healthcare Endowed Scholarship

Annually 15 scholarships of $10,000 will be awarded to Juniors enrolled in the School of Nursing at Lander University. Self Regional Scholars will be chosen from a pool of applicants who attended at least one year of high school in the GLEAMNS region with first priority given to applicants from Greenwood and Edgefield counties. Self Regional Scholars must have a 3.0 GPA or greater when entering their junior year. Criteria for selecting Self Regional Scholars may include but are not limited to the following: prior academic performance, recommendations from professors or others who have knowledge of the applicant’s capabilities, the applicant’s past achievements and community involvement, biographical information regarding the applicant’s career, relevant work experience, career objectives, including interest in employment in a hospital setting and desire to stay in the GLEAMNS region, financial need, and conclusions which the grant selection committee may draw as to applicants motivation, character, ability, or potential. The scholarships will be offered as first-dollar scholarships and will be offered without regard to other scholarships, grants, or financial assistance of the recipients.
