E. Don Herd, Jr. Scholarship

Established in 1994 by an anonymous gift in memory of E. Don Herd, Jr., ninth President of Lander University (1966-73) and noted scholar. A scholarship from fund income will be awarded annually to an entering freshman or transfer student majoring in history. Selection will be made in consultation with the history faculty on the basis of the student’s prior academic achievement and future potential in the study of history. The scholarship is held for one year and is non-renewable.
