Jack and Daughty Lawrence Scholarship

Established in 2013 by Jack and Kay Lawrence in memory of his parents, Jack and Daughty Lawrence. Jack and Daughty Lawrence had a profound impact on the economic and social development of Greenwood County and the state of South Carolina. The award shall be based on a recipient’s financial needs as well as character, potential to positively affect society, and a demonstrated caring for others. The student must have attended and graduated from Spartanburg High School in Spartanburg, SC. Scholarship will not be automatically renewable. Although its primary intent is to help a student come to Lander, a smaller grant may be available for a recipient’s sophomore year. The Lander Admissions Office will contact the Guidance Office at Spartanburg High School to identify worthy candidates. The purpose is to attract students to Lander for their Freshman year and to provide aid during their sophomore year.
