Benjamin Mays Scholarship

Endowed in 2007 in memory of Dr. Benjamin E. Mays by his friends. The scholarship will be awarded annually from fund income to an African American student from South Carolina with priority given to a Greenwood County resident by the Minority Counselor. The recipient must be a full-time student with need, academic, leadership potential. Scholarship is renewable for up to three years provided the recipient(s) maintains at least a 2.2 GPA. Upon completion of the freshman year, the scholarship recipient must complete an essay on the life of Dr. Benjamin Mays to be eligible to continue receiving the scholarship.  The essay must be turned in to the Minority Counselor.
